Watch the Celtic unique angle footage that captures class Daizen Maeda moment vs Rangers

Celtic are now one point away from being crowned Scottish Premiership champions after recording a 2-1 victory against Rangers yesterday.

Following a first half played mainly in the Rangers’ half, the Bhoys probed and went close on several occasions before Matt O’Riley capitalised on 35 minutes, slamming low past Jack Butland in the wake of some excellent approach play from Callum McGregor.

Moments later, Daizen Maeda brought down a sweeping ball from Cameron Carter-Vickers before driving to the line and cutting back for the onrushing John Lundstram, who delighted the home support by diverting the centre into his own net in comical fashion.

Cyriel Dessers almost immediately pulled one back for the visitors; however, his side were soon to be at a disadvantage before Willie Collum blew for the interval.

Lundstram’s involvement in proceedings was to end prematurely as a forceful challenge on Alistair Johnston was upgraded from a yellow card to a straight dismissal following Collum’s journey to the VAR monitor.

Despite some tetchy moments in the second half, Celtic prevailed and have moved six points clear at the Scottish Premiership summit, all but wrapping up a third successive league trophy, though Brendan Rodgers has given short shrift to suggestions that the title race is over and done with.

Jubilation engulfed the slopes of Parkhead yesterday on a defining day in Rodgers’ second spell in Glasgow, and the club have since released their unique angle video, giving supporters another chance to relive the best of the action.

The main talking point from the clip simply has to be Maeda’s class celebration after the second goal. He can be seen leaping into the adoring home crowd after forcing Lundstram to put through his own net to put his side 2-0 up.

The Japan international did pick a booking up for his troubles; nevertheless, the joyous scenes are likely to live long in the memory of supporters, who will be smiling for quite some time as they await the Bhoys crossing the finish line.

Celtic are nearly there now and played with confidence against their rivals that have seen Rodgers’ men pick up ten points from a possible 12 in their head-to-head encounters this term.

Showing their mettle once again, it now appears to be only a matter of time until league glory is officially rubber-stamped.
