Declan Rice sends five words to George Earthy after he scores first goal for West Ham

Declan Rice has sent a message to West Ham United’s George Earthy after the youngster netted his first Premier League goal yesterday.

West Ham came from behind to pick up a 3-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday in what was David Moyes’ final home game in charge.

Albert Sambi Lokonga opened the scoring inside the opening 10 minutes and the Hammers headed into the break a goal behind.

James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek struck within the opening 20 minutes of the second half before George Earthy came off the bench to wrap things up West Ham.

The 19-year-old struck just a minute after coming off the bench following some excellent work from Mohammed Kudus down the right-hand side.

Following his first goal for the club, former West Ham skipper Declan Rice has lauded the youngster on social media.

Earthy’s stats vs Luton

Earthy came off the bench to make an instant impact yesterday and it’s fair to say he’s earned an opportunity.

The Englishman has been in fine form for the Under-21s side, netting nine goals and providing as many assists in 20 Premier League 2 appearances.

Following his display at the London Stadium on Saturday, Earthy also earned high praise from Clinton Morrison, who claimed the midfielder is ‘some player’.

Despite a brief cameo in the middle of the park, the numbers reflect what was a promising display from the youngster.

He picked up a 7.2 match rating from Sofascore, higher than starters Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio on the day.
