'Absolutely brilliant': Micah Richards says £77m Man City player has genuinely been amazing recently

Micah Richards has heaped praise on one Manchester City player’s form recently.

Manchester City have several players who have been decisive in recent weeks.

Mateo Kovacic, for instance, had yet another excellent game in his side’s 4-0 drubbing of Fulham.

Micah Richards says one Man City player has been “brilliant” recently

Phil Foden’s rich vein of form has continued during the business end of the season as he scored his 17 Premier League goal of the season on Saturday.

Foden’s strike, which was a brilliant right-footed finish was important, as it seemed like Fulham could potentially have staged a comeback before his goal.

But at the end of the day, Pep Guardiola’s men put the chances of an upset to bed like champions do against Marco Silva’s side.

Josko Gvardiol grabbed the headlines against Fulham by scoring a brace and helping Manchester City keep a clean sheet, as Micah Richards hailed his recent form.

“Over these last sort of five games, he has been absolutely brilliant. He has got five goals in seven games. Everything he touches at the moment is just brilliant.”

“And to be able to adapt to what Pep wants when you are a centre-back and then having to play full-back, play effectively, it has just been brilliant to see. It really has”, he told BBC Match of the Day.

Much like Micah Richards, Steve Nicol also lauded Josko Gvardiol for looking comfortable as a makeshift left-back recently.

Josko Gvardiol is getting better and better

In our view, it is impossible to disagree with Micah Richards as Josko Gvardiol is getting progressively better in a Manchester City shirt.

The £77.6 million man does not have the minor flaws he did in his game at left-back earlier in the season, whose quality as a player was praised by Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatian defender is becoming much more of a threat in the final third and defensively, barring the odd moment, it seems like a challenge for wingers to even test him in games.

Some of Gvardiol’s early-season critics perhaps failed to take into account that he is still a young player and unsurprisingly, he has improved as a player.
