Man Utd fans have a lot to say about Ella Toone after Women’s FA Cup final win, they’re all in complete agreement

Manchester United fans made their feelings perfectly clear about Ella Toone after her performance in the Women’s FA Cup final against Tottenham Women at Wembley.

Manchester United Women reached the final of the Women’s FA Cup last season, only for the Red Devils to lose 1-0 against Chelsea Women at Wembley in 2023.

But Marc Skinner’s ladies bounced back from last season’s result and once again punched their ticket to the final of the Women’s FA Cup in the current campaign.

United Women exacted their revenge on defending FA Cup champions Chelsea Women in the semi-finals after a 2-1 win at the Leigh Sports Village in April.

Spurs Women, on the other hand, booked their place in the final after they defeated Leicester City Women at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.

Ella Toone steps up for Man Utd women

Ella Toone has made a real impact with Manchester United Women since her move from Manchester City Women in 2018.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder arrived at Old Trafford during United Women’s first season in the Women’s Championship and has since become a key figure.

Toone has been praised by United Women’s manager Marc Skinner, with Toone currently the club’s top scorer and record appearance holder for the women’s team.

She also made her presence felt on the international stage, including scoring for England Women in the Women’s Euro 2022 final win against Germany Women.

Toone stepped up again and lived up to her reputation as a big-match player with her impact against Tottenham Women on Sunday in the Women’s FA Cup final.

The England Women international fired Skinner’s ladies into the lead during the first half of injury time, with Toone scoring a stunning strike from outside of the box.

Toone found herself in ample space in the middle and shifted past Eveliina Summanen before unleashing a wicked right-footed effort into the top corner.

The United Women star’s opener allowed Skinner’s side to build on their advantage, with Rachel Williams doubling their lead in the second half at Wembley.

Rebecca Spencer’s howler for Tottenham Women only three minutes after Rachel Williams’ strike allowed Lucia Garcia to slot the ball into the back of the empty net.

Lucia Garcia then completed her brace in the 74th minute before she was withdrawn in the 77th minute, with Toone also coming off in the 78th minute.

Man Utd fans react to Toone vs Tottenham Women

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were in awe at Toone’s impact in the 4-0 thrashing in the Women’s FA Cup final.

Red Devils supporters called on a statue for “absolute demon” Toone, while other United fans called her a “certified” legend and a ‘deserved’ No 7 at the club.

“[An] Ella Toone masterclass,” one fan said.

Another tweeted: “Ella Toone is the only relevant [No] 7 at United.”

“Ella Toone. A certified Man Utd women’s team legend,” a third simply wrote.

Someone else commented: “Build Ella Toone a statue. Absolute demon of a player and a cracker in the cup final, deserved.”

While a fifth posted: “Ella Toone is a God! Club legend, whatever happens, she is a legend!”

“Build a statue for Ella Toone… f*****g hell,” another said.

And a seventh added: “Deserves the No 7, Ella Toone.”
