Phil Foden achieved a feat against Fulham only Raheem Sterling has at Man City

As Manchester City took Fulham apart in their 4-0 win, Phil Foden achieved a feat no Englishman has at the club apart from Raheem Sterling.

Phil Foden produced a sumptuous finish for City once again as his boyhood club made easy work of Marco Silva’s side, who had played quite well in the first 45 minutes.

With yet another important goal to his name this campaign, the Stockport-born midfielder may have potentially sealed a PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

After all, eight Fulham players recently picked the Englishman out as the best player in the Premier League this season.

What Foden did to match Sterling at Man City against Fulham

Manchester City’s number 47 could end up having a season that is even brought up when discussing his greatness in the future.

Leading City’s title charge in a campaign where they could win the double as a 23-year-old is very rare in football.

But then again, Foden is well and truly a special player, with Aguero recently siding with him over David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne in a game of start-bench-sell.

As per Squawka Live, Phil Foden became the only English player at Manchester City apart from Raheem Sterling to score 25 or more goals in all competitions with his strike against Fulham.

Apart from Foden and Sterling, no English player at City has hit such goalscoring figures during the Premier League era.

The now-Chelsea winger achieved such numbers in the 2018/19 and 2019/2020 seasons for the Sky Blues.

Phil Foden is in esteemed company

Considering Raheem Sterling was known for being incredibly productive during his spell at Manchester City, Phil Foden is well and truly in esteemed company after Manchester City defeated Fulham.

Especially considering Sterling’s best goalscoring numbers emerged in campaigns where he was up there as one of the best players in the world.

The former Liverpool forward’s stock might have plummeted.

But back then, Sterling was at the peak of his powers and he was extremely integral to City.

Phil Foden can pat himself on the back for perhaps being even more important to this current Manchester City side this season.
