Report: Tottenham Hotspur should try to sign 'special' £51m-rated striker to finally replace Harry Kane - opinion

Tottenham Hotspur should try to sign a £51m-rated striker this summer transfer window to finally replace Harry Kane.

Since Kane departed for Bayern Munich in an £86m deal last year, Spurs haven’t had the same source of goals upfront.

Richarlison has been a lot better this season but indeed, he’s nowhere near the level of Kane, so club chiefs should be in the market for a world-class striker.

Here, TBR take a look at one ‘special’ forward they should try to sign who’d be perfect for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham Hotspur should try to sign Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee joined Italian side Bologna in the summer of 2022, completing a £7.3m deal from Bayern Munich.

Since then, he’s been on a rapid rise and has established himself as one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe.

This season, the 22-year-old has really flourished, netting 12 goals whilst laying on seven assists for Serie A’s high flyers.

Spurs have been linked with Zirkzee, as have North London rivals Arsenal, so competition for his signature is set to be rife.

The cost of Joshua Zirkzee

According to Inter News, Bologna who are set to secure Champions League football, are expected to demand around £51m for their prized asset.

Like all clubs this summer, Spurs will have to move on players to keep in line with Financial Fair Play regulations, so any forthcoming move for Zirkzee may not commence until after the end of June – when the financial year ends.
