Manchester United fans candidly dropped their two cents on Amad Diallo after the Ivorian winger’s performance against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Amad Diallo spent last season out on loan at Sunderland and the Ivory Coast international impressed during his spell at the Stadium of Light.
The Ivorian wonderkid was included in Manchester United’s pre-season tour last summer and appeared to be part of Erik ten Hag’s plans at Old Trafford.
However, Diallo missed the early stages of United’s current Premier League campaign after he sustained a knee injury against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly.
The Ivorian made his long-awaited return to first-team action last December in United’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest at City Ground.
However, Diallo has struggled to secure regular playing time under United manager Erik ten Hag since his return from injury, despite fans wanting to see more of him.
Diallo makes rare Man Utd start
Amad Diallo had been reduced to sporadic appearances in the Premier League this season ahead of the Arsenal clash at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United United winger, who arrived at Old Trafford from Atalanta in 2021, appeared in six Premier League matches after coming off the bench.
Despite being limited to appearances from the bench, Diallo impressed fans with his impact in the 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March.
The former Atalanta man came off the bench and scored the winner against Liverpool in United’s sensational FA Cup win at Old Trafford.
Diallo, who was linked with a potential January exit from United, received his first start on Sunday under Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag this season.
The Ivory Coast winger took his place in the starting XI ahead of Antony, who was heavily criticised for his performance in the 4-0 thumping defeat to Crystal Palace.

Diallo appeared lively during the first half against Arsenal and showed the dynamic threat he could offer to United’s attacking frontline.
The United attacker’s performance once again raised questions from fans over former Ajax star Antony starting ahead of him.
Diallo’s influence in the second half waned and Ten Hag withdrew the Ivorian for Antony in the 70th minute.
Red Devils supporters on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, have urged Ten Hag to stick with Diallo ahead of Antony in the starting XI.
One fan claimed: “Amad Diallo is world class. Don’t ever play Antony ahead of him again.”
Another tweeted: “Amad Diallo looks like he’s on a different wavelength on that pitch. Can’t believe Antony’s been getting game-time over this demon.”
“Amad Diallo is Manchester United’s best player on the pitch. Crazy how Ten Hag favoured Antony over him,” a third added.
Someone else commented: “Antony to Man Utd is probably the worst transfer ever. Diallo is already better [than] him.”
“Diallo over Antony from here on now,” one X user posted.
While another wrote: “I don’t hate Antony, but Ten Hag should never start him over Amad Diallo.”
And a seventh said: “How can ETH [Ten Hag] sit there all season and play Antony over Diallo? Madness.”
Somebody else tweeted: “Amad Diallo should’ve had more minutes than Antony this season.”
