‘Biggest fan’: £65m Arsenal player now admits he will be supporting Tottenham on Tuesday

A key Arsenal player has claimed he will be the ‘biggest fan’ of Tottenham Hotspur when they face Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

Following today’s 1-0 win at Old Trafford, the Gunners are relying on their north London rivals to pick up a result against Man City next week.

Arsenal currently sit one point clear at the top of the Premier League table but City have a game in hand at Tottenham on Tuesday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side got back to winning ways at home to Burnley on Saturday and the Gunners will be hoping for a favour from their arch-rivals.

Now, an Arsenal player has admitted he will be cheering their rivals on next week.

Kai Havertz on supporting Tottenham

Arsenal’s win today means they will take the title race to the final day, regardless of the outcome at Spurs on Tuesday.

Kai Havertz provided the assist for Leandro Trossard which earned them a vital three points in Manchester.

The duo spoke to Sky Sports after the victory and Havertz was asked whether he will be supporting Tottenham next week.

“I’m going to be the biggest fan of Tottenham ever, we all are going to be,” the £65 million forward laughed. “So, let’s hope for the best.”

Aston Villa result could be key

Should Aston Villa fall to a defeat against Liverpool tomorrow, it would leave Tottenham in with a chance of securing an unlikely top-four finish.

Postecoglou’s side currently sit four points behind the Villains and after Unai Emery’s side host Liverpool tomorrow, they would have played a game less.

If Spurs head into Tuesday’s game needing a result to keep their top-four hopes alive, it would boost the likelihood of them picking up a result.

It looks set to be a bizarre evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as many Spurs fans are likely to be desperate to see their rivals miss out on the title.
