'They did that': Michael Owen says Arsenal did something so impressive to win at Old Trafford today

Arsenal got over the line against Manchester United today to keep their title hopes alive at Old Trafford.

A goal in the first half from Leandro Trossard proved enough to seal all three points and ensure the title race will indeed go right to the wire.

For Arsenal, it was far from a vintage display. They had to defend really well at times and the ever-impressive William Saliba once again caught the eye in defence.

As we know, winning at Old Trafford is not meant to be an easy task and to be fair to United, they made it hard for Arsenal today.

And speaking about how Arsenal managed the game, pundit Michael Owen commented on just how well the Gunners had done in getting the win.

Michael Owen shares why he was so impressed with Arsenal at Manchester United

Speaking on Premier League Productions about how the Gunners got over the line in the end at Old Trafford, former United striker Owen was fu of praise for Mikel Arteta’s side.

“Definitely. Taking the ball to the corner flag, wasting a bit of time, their goalkeeper got booked for time-wasting. You’ve got to get over the line, it’s not easy,” Owen said.

“Old Trafford shouldn’t be an easy place to go to. Man Utd are always going to bombard you at the end. It’s one of those games where they say it’s a title-winning performance, you’re not at your best and you’ve got to grind it out. They did that.”

All about getting the win

While Arsenal have scored a bucket load of goals this season, their defence has been equally as impressive and it was an 18th clean-sheet overall today.

That is hugely impressive and the likes of Saliba, Gabriel and David Raya are proving to be crucial in helping those stats.

The Gunners had to get it done today and as Owen comments on here, they got over the line the hard way and had to turn to a few dark arts to do so.

Mikel Arteta will not mind that one bit and at the end of the day, the title is very much still a possibility.
