Prince Harry is hiding his 'anger' over King Charles rejecting him

Prince Harry recently made a visit to the UK, however, despite many reports he didn’t visit his father King Charles, due to His Majesty’s ‘full program‘, a statement said.

The Duke made a visit to see his father, King Charles shortly after he announced his cancer diagnosis at the beginning of the year. It was a flying visit for Prince Harry, who was given a short timeframe. It looked like the two were improving their ‘strained’ relationship, but royal experts say the latest doesn’t ‘bode well’ for their bond.

Prince Harry’s statement masks his ‘bitterness’ towards his father

Before the Prince’s arrival, his team released a statement that read: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program,” a spokesperson for Harry told USA TODAY.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon,” the statement concluded.

Although a ‘polite’ statement, royal experts say it’s ‘masking’ the Duke’s true feelings. “It’s impossible to exaggerate the significance of King Charles’ decision not to see his son Harry while Harry is in the UK for the Invictus Games,” Tom Quinn told The Mirror.

“It’s an unambiguous statement that Harry is not welcome; that the relationship between father and son has broken down, perhaps irretrievably.”

Quinn adds that although the statement sounds reasonable, “it masks a huge amount of awkwardness, anger, and bitterness.”

Prince Harry attended his hometown alone, without seeing his family members. He attended the 10th-anniversary ceremony for his Invictus Games at St Pauls Cathedral.

No members of the royal family joined him at the event, however, the Duke was joined by family members of his late mother, Princess Diana, including her brother, Charles Spencer, and sister Lady Jane Fellowes.

It was once again a flying visit to the UK for Prince Harry, who headed off to Nigeria after the event, with his wife, Meghan Markle.

The couple embarked on a three-day trip to the West African country, where they made a number of stops, including a reception for military families and visiting a Lagos school.

Their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remain at their home in Montecito, California during the trip, despite suspicions they’d be joining their parents.
