A teacher at Wisbech Grammar School played for Harleston Magpies in the National Masters Club finals recently.
Andrea Glover, a contracted England Hockey performance coach at the East TA, featured against Bedford Hockey Club at the Lee Valley Hockey Centre.
With an incredible atmosphere at the Olympic Hockey stadium, Harleston won 1- 0 in a very exciting end-to-end game to be crowned national champions for 2024.
This was a fantastic result for the Magpies, who won their last three games to get to the finals.
Glover, who also represented Norfolk Hockey Masters last month, was also due to represent the East Masters in the Regional Tournament at Basingstoke at the weekend.
Masters hockey is one of the country's fastest-growing sports. Seeing so many players from the area representing their clubs, county and region regularly is encouraging.
