March athletes take on races at Leeds, Eye and Dereham

March Athletic Club members were busy up and down the country tackling the heat over various distances.

Firstly, lots of club runners were at a local favourite, the Eye 10k.

Mark Godfrey was first home for the club in 38:11 followed by Andy Cole in 39:03.

The third member back for the club was Tim Brammer in 40:58.

Toni Alcaraz was the first lady home for the club and first in her age category in the group as she performed very well clocking in at 45:17.

Michelle Prior was second over the line for the March ladies with another strong run with Samantha Hodson rounding up the top three with a PB time of 54:11.

In Bideford, there was more 10k success as Kanina O'Neil-Head won her age category in 40:18 on a tough hilly course.

Barry Head made his racing return after a few injuries in style with a great race in 43:57.

Roma O'Neil ran her third fastest 10k, despite hot conditions, in 1:04:50.

Dawn Goodley competed at the Dereham 10 miler in an impressive time of 1:32:58 as she continued her good form after last week's 10k.

Fiona Graham travelled up to Leeds for the marathon as she put weeks of training to the test.

She crossed the line in 4:25:19 achieving a PB of one minute in unfavourable conditions.
