A range of events will be taking place at Wisbech, March and Chatteris libraries over the next few months

Several events will be taking place at libraries across Fenland over the next few months.

The events will be taking place at Wisbech Library, Chatteris Library and March Library, and are all aimed at families and youngsters.

Events at Wisbech Library:

\- ‘Fantastical Forest workshop’ on Saturday, June 22 from 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Wisbech Library

Join artists from Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination for a creative workshop about the hidden world of tiny fungal threads thriving under our feet.

Play with natural materials, think about the natural world around you and make new artwork in response.

The workshop is inspired by new discoveries at the University of Cambridge and Cambridge City Council Tree Team.

March Library

The event is aimed at families and children four years and older.

\- On Saturday, July 20, from 3pm-5pm, the library is holding a ‘Bash Stuff and Save the World’ event.

Chatteris Library

You will be able to reduce waste by hitting it repeatedly with a stick.

Steve Barbe will lead you in creating music, playing games and exploring rhythm with junk objects.

Items will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own tins, tubs, pots and pans (nothing sharp, brittle or unhygienic).

This event is suitbale for families and children four years and over.

Chatteris Library:

\- ‘Samba Drumming Workshop’ on Saturday, May 18 from 1.30pm-3.30pm.

The event is a high energy and all-inclusive experience that will get everyone having fun with beats and rhythms.

Never touched a drum? Doesn’t matter, Anthony Paul will support you to have a go. All instruments provided.

Enjoyment is the main aim.

\- The library is also holding a ‘Along Came A Magpie’ event on Saturday, September 21 from 2.30pm-3.30pm.

Scarlet Oak Theatre will present the show featuring puppetry, plants and lots of pots.

In an intimate potting shed, you will meet a gardener who loves the smell of the flowers, the feel of the earth and watching her plants bloom.

But along comes a magpie who turns her potting shed upside down.

Join the gardener and magpie on this playful and heart warming journey as they navigate the intricacies of friendship.

This event is suitable for families with children two-six years old.

Events at March Library:

\- A ‘Ball and Boe by The Opera Dudes’ event is taking place on Friday, June 7 from 7pm-8.45pm.

A fabulous tribute to Michael Ball and Alfie Boe.

In their inimitable style full of humour and personality, the Dudes sing original arrangements of Ball and Boe.

Favourites from the West End, the movies and Las Vegas-style showstoppers.

\- A ‘Comic & Graphic Novel Workshop’ is being held on Saturday, June 29 from 2pm-4pm.

Professional illustrator Stuart Paterson of Essential Sequential will demonstrate the tools and techniques used by professional comic writers and artists.

Plan and create your own mini-comic book whatever your skill level, by choosing from a range of quick and accessible activities. All materials are provided.

\- A ‘Textile Banner Workshop’ is being held on Thursday, July 25 from 5pm-7pm.

Join artist Titania Fisher to create your own unique applique floral banner.

Use spring flowers to inspire floral designs as Titania guides you through the various textile techniques required to craft your own banner.
