The New York City Police Department has released photos of the man who is wanted in connection with a random attack on 'Boardwalk Empire' actor Steve Buscemi.
The NYPD released information Sunday on the attack that happened just before noon on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in front of 369 3rd Ave. in Manhattan.
A 66-year-old man, who was identified as Buscemi, was punched in the face by a stranger.
EMS took Buscemi to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition with bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye.
Buscemi was "another victim of a random act of violence in the city," his publicist told the New York Post.
The NYPD tells HNGN that as of Monday morning, there were no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The man wanted in connection with the attack was wearing a dark baseball cap, blue t-shirt, black pants and white sneakers. He was carrying a book bag.
Buscemi is a New York native and was an FDNY firefighter before he got his break as an actor.
His breakout role was as Mr. Pink in Quentin Tarantino's 1992 film "Reservoir Dogs." He has dozens of other credits including "Pulp Fiction", "Con Air", "Fargo" and lighter fare like Adam Sandler's "The Wedding Singer."
His "Boardwalk Empire" role earned him two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy nominations.
Buscemi is the second "Boardwalk Empire" actor to be attacked in Manhattan this year.
On March 31, a homeless man attacked actor Michael Stuhlbarg in Central Park.
Stuhlbarg suffered a small bruise and said he didn't need any medical attention, according to the NYPD. An arrest was made in that case.
