Alan Pardew now shares why people might be “slightly concerned” about Michael Olise

Crystal Palace have some standout players on the books right now, but now Alan Pardew has voiced concerns over one.

Oliver Glasner‘s Eagles side is the talk of the town right now in the Premier League amid a run of six games unbeaten.

In these six, Crystal Palace have won five and all have come against teams who were above them at the time and now sit 12th.

If everything goes Palace’s way this week, the Eagles could finish as high as 10th.

This form has seen the likes of Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton star and receive most of the plaudits in the media.

But now former Palace boss Alan Pardew has explained why he’s concerned about Olise.

Why Alan Pardew is concerned about Michael Olise

Speaking on talkSPORT on Sunday night, the former Eagles boss who took Palace to an FA Cup final discussed Olise.

While praising the Frenchman, he also explained why some may be concerned about parting with millions to sign the high-flying talent.

“Olise, without a shadow of a doubt, is a player who has come alive.

“Anybody who is looking at his injury record will be slightly concerned because he gets a lot of injuries, but in terms of his ability, there is no doubt”.

This is a fair concern to raise, however, it’s something we aren’t sure of the severity of, as the injuries could have been due to the training regiment under Roy Hodgson rather than the play himself.

Pardew likens Eberechi Eze to James Maddison

Continuing, Pardew also touched on Eze who has been equally as incredible this season for Palace.

Praising him, Pardew suggested that Eze is similar to James Maddison.

He explained: “Eze for me, I think he is the Maddison that is not at the top club at the moment. I think he could go to any club and improve them.”

This again from Pardew makes tonnes of sense as Eze is among the most special players in the league right now.

This summer, Palace will be hard-pushed to keep him as we expect the league’s best to be in the running.
