Former South Carolina offensive lineman Sidney Fugar has committed to Baylor, he announced via X on Monday night. A late addition out of the NCAA transfer portal for head coach Dave Aranda, hoping to improve at the line of scrimmage.

The 2023 season was Fugar’s redshirt sophomore campaign, meaning he will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Bears.

Fugar went through the transfer process for a second time in his career. He began at Western Illinois before landing at South Carolina ahead of the 2023 season. Going through spring practice, Fugar eventually played in 10 games for the Gamecocks with four starts.

Three of those starts were at the beginning of the schedule against North Carolina, Furman, and Georgia.

South Carolina gave Fugar a chance to play both tackle positions during his one season with the program. Two of his starts were at left tackle before switching over to the right side. Baylor will have a versatile player on their hands and can decide which side they want to deploy Fugar.
