'Interesting': Theo Walcott makes prediction about how Arsenal will perform next season

Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has made his prediction about how Mikel Arteta’s side will perform in the 2024/25 season.

The Gunners are firmly in the mix for the Premier League title as they reside at the summit of the table, one point ahead of Manchester City, who play their game in hand against Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

Though, pundits are already starting to make early predictions ahead of next season and Walcott has offered his verdict on how the North Londoners will do.

Theo Walcott thinks Arsenal will be even better

Walcott is expecting Arsenal to be even better next year and points towards Arteta changing the belief around Emirates Stadium as a contributing factor.

“They have done everything right up until now,” Walcott said.

“You have to give credit to Mikel Arteta, and the whole set-up there, he has changed the whole atmosphere, the stadium and the fans – the belief, I think the belief in the main thing now.

“It is sort of draining, you can feel it in the atmosphere. I think they are going to be better next year. I think City will but I think Arsenal will and it will be interesting for everyone to see again.”

Arsenal are a young squad

Arsenal have a young squad and manager, so they’re only going to get better as they build experience and enter their prime years.

In fact, Arteta fielded an 11 this season with an average age of 24 years and three months old, which isn’t far off being the youngest across the division, with Chelsea holding that record – 23 years and one month old, as per Transfermarkt.

So, with a couple of extra additions in the summer, perhaps up front and out wide, they’ll be in a title race once again whilst being able to advance further in Europe.
