'I promise': Mesut Ozil has now made a pledge about what he'll do if Tottenham get a result against Man City

Arsenal fans will be supporting Tottenham on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners need Spurs to get a result against Manchester City to hand them the chance to win the Premier League at the weekend.

Arsenal and Tottenham are the most bitter of rivals, but, on this rare occasion, Arsenal supporters will be hoping that Spurs can get a result.

It’s not just Arsenal fans who are keeping their fingers crossed either.

Indeed, one of the Gunners’ former players has now taken to social media to wish Tottenham luck ahead of this game as Mesut Ozil has made a promise to Spurs if they get a result against City.

Mesut Ozil’s promise to Tottenham

Ozil shared a message on X stating that he will never make fun of Tottenham again if they manage to do Arsenal a favour against City.

Ozil has, famously, over the years been inclined to give Tottenham a bit of stick on social media, but he’s now promised to put a stop to that behaviour if Spurs can get a result.

Tottenham fans may not want to win

Arsenal fans will be praying for a Tottenham win here, but Spurs fans may be feeling the opposite.

Tottenham have next to no chance of securing a top four finish this season as they sit five points behind Aston Villa with just two games to go, and at least there will be some level of comfort in the fact that they will have helped stop Arsenal from winning the league if they are beaten on Tuesday.

It would be a doomsday scenario if Spurs were to beat City, still finish fifth and help Arsenal win the league.

In all honesty, considering their recent form, Tottenham may not have much of a say in if they lose to City, but one thing is for sure, it will be a strange atmosphere at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for this game.
