Wortham and Burgate Twinning Association has been strengthening its links with the twinned villages of Hédé and Tinténiac in Brittany and are currently formalising links with a town in Germany - Badbergen.
For the first time since the pandemic, from May 8 to May 12, a group of 15 people from the villages in France, took part in a number of activities in Suffolk, including a guided tour of Norwich on Thursday.
This was followed by a tour of Diss Heritage Triangle on Friday and a session at a local crafts workshop.
The guests were then treated to lunch at the Corn Hall and some time visiting Wortham Primary School. The group then visited Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens to round off the trip on Saturday.
Worth and Burgate Twinning Association chairman Linda Simpson, said: “We had 15 visitors, including two families and for some of them, it was their first visit to Wortham. Each year we take turns arranging exchange visits and it’s always a lot of fun.
“We had great weather this time around and everyone had a lovely time. It’s always an excellent opportunity to make new friends, and people involved in these exchange trips usually stay in touch online.
“Twinning is important as it maintains our links with the wider world too and offers people the opportunity to seek out new friends and experiences. As part of the twinning visit, Wortham Bowls Club hosted an introductory bowls session for the visitors. These introductory sessions are offered to anyone who wishes to attend, every Friday at 6pm.
