Harry Kane says Tottenham have one of the most aggressive players in the world right now

Harry Kane has named a Tottenham player as one of the most aggressive around.

Speaking to Goal on TikTok, Kane was asked to create his ultimate defender when asked to choose from a number of attributes.

He chose the likes of John Terry for his football IQ and Raphael Varane for his pace, but when it came to aggression, he picked one of his former Spurs teammates.

Indeed, Kane chose Cristian Romero as the most aggressive defender in the game today.

Harry Kane picks Cristian Romero for his aggression

The striker spoke about his former teammate.

“Aggression?” Kane was asked.

“Romero, Cuti Romero,” Kane said.

Cristian Romero’s disciplinary record

Kane says that Romero is one of the most aggressive defenders in the game, and he’s not wrong.

The Argentine has had 72 bookings and seven red cards in his career, in just 222 recorded games via Transfermarkt, that’s a card every three games or so on average.

Romero isn’t just aggressive in the tackle either, he’s also aggressive in how he chases the ball down.

His goal against Arsenal a few weeks ago was a prime example, from centre-back, Romero flew forward in a desperate attempt to track the ball down, and, ultimately, it led to a goal.

Sometimes, Romero’s aggression is a blessing for Spurs as it sets the tone of how the team should play, but, of course, the constant cautions and dismissals is a problem.

Romero has improved slightly on the discipline front this season, picking up just six yellow cards and one red compared to nine yellow cards and one red in the league last season.

With that being said, there are still two games to go, so don’t back against one more headloss from Romero before the end of the campaign and another red card to boot.
