Newbury’s newest restaurant will be opening in the Market Place next week.
Gourmet Pasta Co. is an independent pasta restaurant at 34 Market Place—the former Blue’s Smokehouse and ASK Italian unit—and it plans to open on Tuesday, May 21.
The eatery specialises in serving fresh pasta in a variety of different dishes inspired by classic Italian recipes and some lesser-known but just as delicious Italian-South American variations.
Restaurant owner Hugo Lesser said: “Gourmet Pasta Co is a new, independent fresh pasta concept launching at 34 Market Place in Newbury.
“Our range of fresh classic and gourmet pasta is inspired by Italian-South American as well as classic Italian recipes.”
“Our menu is fresh, delicious, and great value.”
As well as pasta, Gourmet Pasta Co.’s menu also contains Italian staples such as bruschetta, arancini and tiramisu, with plenty of options for those who aren’t into pasta.
The restaurant also has a £10 children’s menu, as well as a £16.50 three-course set menu which is available before 6.45pm Monday to Friday.
Gourmet Pasta Co. will be running pasta making classes, school sessions, jazz nights and party bookings once open, and it will also be selling frozen pasta along with sauces that can be made at home.

From Tuesday, May 21, Gourmet Pasta Co. will be open 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am to 10.30pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
