'Freakish': Jamie Carragher shares the only way which Arsenal could beat Man City to the title

Arsenal and Manchester City have to wait until the final day of the Premier League season to decide who will become the champions.

37 games have been played this season, and the title race is going down to the wire.

Manchester City are the favourites following their win against Tottenham on Tuesday, and everyone expects them to retain their crown.

Jamie Carragher too thinks City will win it, but he has shared the one way Arsenal could pip Pep Guardiola’s side on the final day of the season.

Jamie Carragher shares how Arsenal could beat Manchester City to the Premier League title

Arsenal and Manchester City have been outstanding in the Premier League this season.

Pep Guardiola‘s men were the favourites to win the title before a ball was even kicked this term, and they haven’t disappointed.

Arsenal have been magnificent too.

The Gunners have won the same number of games as Manchester City and have conceded five fewer goals all season in the Premier League.

This has been Arsenal’s best season since the Invincibles, but sadly for them, it looks like they will finish second in the table.

Jamie Carragher fully expects Arsenal to win their final game against Everton. The pundit believes Manchester City will pick up the three points too.

However, he thinks the defending champions could slip up on the final day against West Ham if one thing happens on Sunday.

Carragher said on The Gary Neville Podcast: “Listen, anything can happen in a football game. We’ve seen strange things happen.

“The only way something could happen, I think, is if Man City have a player get sent off at 0-0. I can’t see City in any way not winning that game 11v11.

“So, something really freakish would have to happen.”

What happened in Manchester City’s last five games vs West Ham

Arsenal‘s hopes of winning the Premier League title rests in West Ham United’s hands.

Mikel Arteta shares a fantastic relationship with David Moyes, and he would love nothing more than to see his old boss lend him a helping hand on the final day of the season.

West Ham haven’t had a great campaign. They are currently ninth in the table and have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions – that came against Luton Town.

It has already been confirmed that Moyes will be leaving the club this summer, and we’re sure he would love to finish on a high.

However, his recent record against Manchester City is dreadful.

In the last five meetings between the two sides, City have won four games. The only exception was a 2-2 draw in May 2022.

Arsenal will be hoping to see the Irons hold Manchester City to a draw again, but that feels extremely unlikely.
