‘I think’: Alan Myers outlines what will happen at Everton this summer regardless of 777 Partners takeover

All Everton fans want to know is that, despite all the takeover trouble that is swirling around the club, measures are in place to keep it afloat.

Many players and many managers have come and gone from Goodison Park, but through it all the Toffees have remained a fine institution and a pillar of English football.

However, for seemingly the first time ever, this season has seen the existential threat of administration constantly touted again and again.

It is a tiring narrative, and one which provokes a new level of fear that has seldom been felt before around Everton.

Fortunately, as he often does, Alan Myers has provided an update on the potential future of the club. And on this occasion, it seems like there is not yet cause for concern.

Alan Myers provides update on Everton’s takeover plans

Taking to X to chat with Evertonians, as he so often does, the Sky Sports reporter was diligent in his efforts to ease fears across the board.

As someone who clearly loves the club, he tries his best to ensure that his own personal biases do not creep into his reporting.

However, at times he does find the right place to insert what he thinks might happen in a certain situation, such as this occasion.

Having relayed information regarding Farhad Moshiri’s new deadline for 777 Partners, which has been set for the end of this month, one fan questioned whether the club is set to go rudderless throughout a crucial summer.

Myers was on hand to somewhat assuage his fears, simply writing: ‘I think the football business will go ahead, it has to.’

So, regardless of whether 777 Partners do get control of the club, or whether the summer is instead dominated by the various bidders seeking to take their place, the expectation is that Everton will survive regardless.

Who could Everton sign this summer?

Kevin Thelwell was cutthroat in his upfront analysis of the coming months, in such a way that the Evertonians have been craving for so long.

Over their years of steady regression, a lack of communication from the top down to the fanbase has only caused further frustration, leaving those who make the club what it is hopelessly in the dark.

However, there have been clear positive changes in this regard, and despite the Director of Football suggesting that sales will have to be made, he did also outline their plans for incomings.

He wrote: ‘That does mean players will be sold, and also that every tool at our disposal will be used to secure new additions to the squad, including utilisation of the loan market.

‘Identifying the right players to fit in with the DNA of Everton is also vitally important. Our fitness record, not just in terms of the match data for each game, but also in terms of the availability of players, has shown significant season-on-season improvement with our Men’s Senior Team.

‘We will target the right players to maintain our positive trajectory in that respect, whilst adding new dimensions to our squad to ensure we deliver more goals and enhance the defensive resilience that has seen us bettered only by Arsenal this term for clean sheets.’

So, despite the obvious restrictions they face, it is promising to seemingly have some competency in charge at last.
