‘Really?: Pundit says Man Utd wouldn’t get any better if they hired ‘exciting manager

Manchester United may look to change manager this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s time at Old Trafford hasn’t quite gone to plan, and there’s been chat about the Red Devils sacking the Dutchman for a long time now.

Of course, if Ten Hag was to go, the big question would be who should replace him.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Keith Treacy was discussing a number of options, and he spoke about the idea of Ange Postecoglou heading to Old Trafford.

Treacy was less than impressed by the idea of United hiring the Australian, claiming that while the football would be exciting, United wouldn’t be any closer to winning anything with the Tottenham boss in charge.

Ange Postecoglou wouldn’t improve Manchester United

Treacy spoke about Postecoglou and how he may get on at United.

“Look if you’re a Man United fan and Ange comes in, it will be exciting, it will be edge of the seat stuff, but do you really think you’re going to get any closer to winning the league?” Treacy said.

Ange Postecoglou has been figured out

Treacy may be right here, Postecoglou doesn’t appear to be the answer for Manchester United.

With all due respect, the Australian appears to have been figured out very quickly in the Premier League.

Yes, Tottenham had a fantastic start to the season, but since the halfway point of the campaign, Spurs are only one point better off than United, and that’s with one more game played.

Postecoglou would certainly be more exciting than Ten Hag, but results on the pitch are what United fans are craving at the moment, and as we’ve seen in recent months, Postecoglou’s team aren’t performing in that regard.

United do need to change something to turn their fortunes around, but getting Postecoglou in to replace Ten Hag may not be the answer.
