'Definitely': Wolves stars in agreement over their favourite 2023/24 moment, there's one clear winner

Wolves players have named their favourite moments from the 2023/24 season, with one fixture topping the charts as the most fond memory.

Gary O’Neil has just one game remaining of his first season in charge of Wolves, as the Old Gold prepare to battle Liverpool on the final day of the 2023/24 campaign.

It’s been a strong debut for the Englishman, who took charge days before the Premier League opener against Manchester United, with early signs suggesting he is the perfect figure for the job.

Before the dip in form that has been seen in recent months, Wolves were on course to fight for a European finish, as O’Neil found the best formation to suit his players and worked tirelessly to navigate the schedule with a squad short on depth.

For all the lows that the club have experienced this year, there has been a list of high points for the Midlands side this season, with Wolves’ media team taking the chance to ask the players about their standout moments of 2023/24.

Wolves players crown West Brom win the best moment of the season

The decision was easy for Max Kilman, Tommy Doyle and Matt Doherty when it came to pinpointing their favourite match of the season, with West Brom away ranking at the top of the charts.

On Instagram, the trio needed little explanation about why the win against the Baggies was their most treasured moment from 2023/24.

Kilman said the Black Country derby was ‘definitely’ his favourite fixture, also mentioning Wolves’ 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea as a high point.

Doyle, who was instrumental in the heated derby, selected the West Brom victory due to the ‘great importance’ of the fixture, applauding the goals of Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto.

Having played three games for Wolves against West Brom over the years, Doherty agreed with his teammates in selecting the derby victory as his favourite moment, as the Irishman claimed an assist at The Hawthorns.

Wolves victory against West Brom was a result to remember

Wolves came in contact with their fiercest rivals for the first time since 2021 this season, facing a trip to The Hawthorns in the FA Cup in what was a true blockbuster in the Midlands.

From brawls in the stands to drama on the pitch, it epitomised what the Black Country derby can bring over 90 minutes, with Wolves walking away with bragging rights on this occasion thanks to a 2-0 win.

Goals from Neto and Cunha sealed the victory for the Old Gold in what was a game to remember for the club against their closest rivals, making it an unsurprising favourite amongst the Wolves squad.
