Police officers attend befriending group in March to spread awareness of scams

Police offered their advice on fraud and scams at a befriending group in March.

The police community support officers went to FACT Community Transport’s befriending group at their hub in March yesterday.

During the talk, officers spoke about specific scams including phishing emails and impersonation over the phone.

Police handed out a booklet “Little Book of Big Scams” as well as informing those on what is going on in March and the work the police are doing to prevent crime.

A spokesperson said via the Policing Fenland Facebook page said: “We love spending time with our community groups, so thank you for having us. We hope you found it useful.”
