Situation in Vovchansk

Last week, Russian forces launched an offensive in the Kharkiv region, attempting to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The aggressors managed to occupy several settlements along the front line. They also sought to capture Vovchansk.

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, more than 30,000 Russian troops have been involved in the offensive in the Kharkiv region.

Today, May 15, information appeared online that Russian forces entered Vovchansk.

However, the General Staff reported that as of 11:30 a.m., the enemy is not engaging in active operations but is attempting to consolidate and regroup.

Later, the Ministry of Defense confirmed that Russian infantry groups had entered Vovchansk. They are trying to consolidate in the northern part of the city, and fighting is ongoing.
