Police spend day in Chatteris tackling drug problem in town - seizing £70,000 of drug money and arresting three people

Police officers said they had a busy day in Chatteris on Monday as they aimed to tackle drug dealing in the town.

A total of £70,000 in drug money was seized and three people were arrested after an operation involving sniffer dogs.

A man in his 20s was also charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis. He appeared in court yesterday where he has been remanded in prison to appear in court again next month.

Two other people in their late teens have been bailed while police carry out further enquiries.

During the operation, six warrants were also issued and firearms were seized.
