'Different type': Chris Sutton hails another 'outstanding' Celtic star alongside Matt O'Riley tonight

Celtic have cruised to their 54th Scottish Premiership title thanks to a 5-0 hammering of Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

The Hoops, buoyed from their recent Glasgow derby win, made the trip to Rugby Park knowing that victory would give them their third title in a row.

Celtic didn’t need very long to effectively end the game as a contest, and with it the title race.

Brendan Rodgers’ charges opened the scoring in the fifth minute through Adam Idah before Daizen Maeda doubled their lead on 12 minutes.

James Forrest then put Celtic out of reach in the 35th minute, and Matt O’Riley weighed in with a second-half brace to really make it a party atmosphere for the travelling fans.

Although O’Riley stood out with a particularly impressive display, Chris Sutton was eager to praise Idah for his efforts on the night.

“Idah has been outstanding for Celtic tonight,” the former Bhoys ace said on Sky Sports just after the hour. “A different type of striker.”

Adam Idah a major success for Celtic

Idah’s season began at another club that plays in green, namely Norwich City of the English Championship.

The 23-year-old made the move to Celtic at the end of the transfer window due to a lack of game time at Carrow Road.

It proved an inspired move for player and club, as Idah weighed in with eight goals and two assists from just 17 outings in green and white.

According to The Mirror, Celtic could yet decide to make the switch permanent if they meet Norwich’s valuation of around £4.3million for Idah.

Based on how well he has done at Parkhead, it would be surprising not to see the Hoops make their move for the Republic of Ireland international.
