TLC viewers first met Cindy when she appeared on the show during season 9.

At 45 years old, she was bedridden and weighed in at over 600 lbs. With the help of her friend, Cindy went to visit Dr Now in Houston and embarked on her weight loss journey.

By the end of her 2021 episode, Cindy needed to lose 70 lbs to get approved for weight loss surgery. But, she was only able to drop 40 lbs.

She dealt with health issues

Not only was Cindy dealing with trying to reach her weight loss goals, but she also had underlying health issues.

After feeling pain in her stomach, she sought the help of Dr Now. After an endoscopy, she found out she had a hiatal hernia.

During Cindy’s time in the hospital, following her hernia diagnosis, she kept to Dr Now’s 1200-calorie plan.

Over the course of two months in the hospital, she lost 161 lbs.

Cindy is approved for surgery

Upon sending Cindy home from the hospital, Dr Now told her he wanted her to follow his diet plan on her own.

He said: “I know it’s going to be very challenging for you with the people that provide you food but you make your own decision…”

Dr Now set Cindy a weight loss goal of dropping 30 lbs in two months.

After a long journey on My 600-lb Life, Cindy was approved for weight loss surgery. She lost a total of 241 lbs following the procedure.

These days, she doesn’t appear particularly active on social media. Her latest Facebook post dates back to the New Year where it appears she was in good spirits.
