Harry Kane says player Liverpool sold for £12m is the most underrated footballer he has ever seen

Harry Kane has suggested that one former Liverpool player is the most underrated footballer he has ever seen.

The Englishman has had an amazing individual season at Bayern Munich following his move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. He has scored 44 goals and provided 12 assists in just 45 games.

Kane has played with and against some great players over the years, and his claim about a former Liverpool star now shows just how highly he rates him.

Harry Kane makes ‘underrated’ claim about Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson was a very important player for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

The German had him as his captain for many years, and he lifted Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League titles a few years ago.

After over 12 years as a Liverpool player, Henderson decided to move on and try another adventure.

In the summer of 2023, Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq completed a deal to sign Henderson for an initial fee of £12 million plus add-ons (BBC).

That move caused a lot of uproar and after less than six months, the England international left Saudi Arabia and moved to Dutch giants Ajax.

Henderson’s career may not have gone to plan since leaving Liverpool, but the players who have shared the dressing room with him know his value.

Harry Kane spent many years as Henderson’s teammate at international level, and he knows exactly how good the former Liverpool man is – both on and off the pitch.

In an interview with Goal, Kane played a game of word association where he had to name a player for every category put in front of him.

When the interviewer prompted ‘underrated’, the Bayern Munich man quickly replied “Jordan Henderson”, suggesting he is the most underrated player he has ever seen.

Jordan Henderson could be on the move again

It’s not often that you see footballers change clubs three times in the space of a year, but that is looking likely in the case of Jordan Henderson.

The Englishman has been at Ajax for less than four months, but his future could be elsewhere.

The Athletic revealed that Henderson’s future is up in the air after Ajax failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

In the game against Almere City FC, the former Liverpool captain received a standing ovation in what many feel was his last home game as an Ajax player (talkSPORT).

If Henderson does leave Ajax, it will be interesting to see where he will end up next.
