‘Absolute nightmare’: Pundit says he was furious with what one Man City player did recently

Jonathan Woodgate has said that he was so angry with one Manchester City player recently.

The Blues have been through a crucial period of Premier League fixtures in their chase to become the first side to win a fourth title in a row.

Their previous game saw the Manchester club secure their first-ever win league at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by beating Ange Postecoglou’s side 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Despite City being one victory away from winning the title, one pundit has shared the frustrations he’s had about one particular player in the City squad.

Speaking in a recent edition of Fantasy 606, Woodgate had this to say after revealing that he has recently put Josko Gvardiol in his fantasy Premier League team.

He said: “I wish he’d taken that penalty [vs Fulham], honestly. I could have put the telly in when he declined but I was like no.

“Because that gets me back in one of the games I’ve got with one of my friends so I would have made ground on him if he’d have taken the penalty, but he didn’t, absolute nightmare.

“But he did produce some good numbers.”

Gvardiol could have bagged a hat-trick against Fulham

Looking back over City’s 4-0 win against Fulham last weekend, Gvardiol scored two goals on the day.

With the score at 3-0 in the late stages of the game, City were awarded a penalty after Julian Alvarez was fouled in the penalty box.

Before the spot-kick was taken, a conversation took place on the pitch involving Gvardiol where he was apparently asked if he wanted to take the penalty and give himself the chance to score a hat-trick.

The defender ultimately declined the offer and saw Alvarez score the final goal of the match to secure the three points for City.

From a fantasy league point of view, it’s understandable why Woodgate was not happy that Gvardiol didn’t take the penalty at Craven Cottage.

However, from City’s perspective, the fact that he chose to put the needs of the team before his ego showed how much of a team player he is.
