Harry Kane names £190,000 p/w Man Utd ace when tasked with naming the scariest footballer he can think of

Harry Kane was the ‘one that got away’ for Manchester United in the summer of 2023. He’s been nothing short of insane for Bayern Munich this season.

It was always going to be the case, wasn’t it? After tearing up the Premier League for years with Tottenham Hotspur, becoming their club’s top scorer in the process, Kane decided it was time for a new venture and opted for the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich – where he’s been thriving.

It could have been so different, he was heavily linked to Old Trafford, but alas it wasn’t to be. Kane would’ve been a frightening force up top.

Speaking of frightening forces, Kane actually believes Manchester United have the scariest footballer he can think of.

Harry Kane on the scariest footballer he can think of

The England captain has had a string of quickfire interviews with GOAL as of late. In the first, he names Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest finisher of all time and then named Raphael Varane as the quickest centre-back he’d ever faced. Now, he’s back to name-dropping Manchester United stars again – this time in the form of another defender.

Kane was tasked this time to play the ‘word association game’, where the hosts would name a word and he would think of the first footballer that came to mind. GOAL began asking away…

  • Goalscorer? Jermaine Defoe.
  • Underrated? Jordan Henderson.
  • Speed? Kyle Walker.
  • Best friend? Eric Dier.
  • Scary? Harry Maguire.

Well, that’s a little unusual! Scary isn’t the adjective many would associate with Maguire, but apparently the Bundesliga’s top goalscorer seems to think so.

He did burst out laughing before saying this, so perhaps it’s an inside joke between the two friends. Manchester United have the scariest player in world football. You heard it here first.

What did Harry Kane say about Cristiano Ronaldo?

Shortly after the Maguire answer, Kane then named the word he would associate with Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo. He had no hesitation in saying: ‘Big-game player’.

Kane is evidently a fan of Cristiano, we just wish he could have replicated his legacy around Old Trafford and banged in goals for fun.
