Che Adams has said that one Manchester City player is almost impossible to play against.
The Southampton striker is aiming to get his side back into the Premier League as the south coast club are currently in the Championship play-offs alongside Norwich City, Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.
Having already played 124 games in the Premier League, the Scotsman has come up against a wide variety of top-level players.
Now though, the striker has highlighted one current Premier League star he admires but has found particularly difficult to play against.
Adams says Erling Haaland is so difficult to play against
In a recent video shared on the Football Daily YouTube channel, Adams was tasked with building the ultimate striker by picking numerous real-life strikers based on who he felt has the best left foot, right foot, heading ability, pace and strength.
On the strength category, Adams picked Erling Haaland and then went on to say this about the City star when asked what it’s like to play against him.
He said: “Seeing him up close and personal in real life, he’s just an absolute unit, a beast on the pitch as well, so quick so I had to pick him.
“There are players in football you just can’t mark and are just too unpredictable and I think he’s one of them.
“No matter how small a chance is, there’s always a chance he’s going to score so it’s hard to mark players like that, I guess.”
Haaland has terrorised many teams since joining City
Since joining the Manchester club, the 23-year-old has scored 90 goals in 96 games across all competitions.
Haaland has faced off against Adams on two occasions, the first of which being in City’s 4-0 win over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium back in October 2022 where he scored one goal in 90 minutes.
The Norwegian then played 28 minutes of the 2-0 defeat against the Saints in the Carabao Cup last season.
This isn’t the first time a player has shared how hard they have found it to play against the City star, as Virgil van Dijk said last month that Haaland is one of the toughest opponents he’s ever tussled with on the pitch.
Given how many goals the 23-year-old has scored for City, the fact that Adams has highlighted how hard it is to contain Haaland on the pitch makes it easy to see why he is so capable when it comes to finding the back of the net.
