Rangers star has ‘no intention’ of leaving Ibrox as contact ticks down

It’s been a hard old season on the injury front for Zak Lovelace at Rangers.

And he’s not alone.

Only a fraction of the Rangers first team have been available for over 70% of games this season as injury decimates the club’s options across the pitch.

It’s something which Philippe Clement insists he’s going to change with the last 24 months dominated by absences throughout the squad.

Zak Lovelace, who was brought into the team during the interim reign of Steven Davis, has been one of those players who has been unable to contribute this season due to injury.

But despite this, and despite murmurs of a potential exit this summer, the latest surrounding the young England striker suggests he’s focused on making the grade in Glasgow.

Lovelace has year to run on contract

Murmurs about Zak Lovelace’s contract at Rangers being up this summer set the cat amongst the social media pigeons earlier in the day.

The suggestion that the young England U17s international could leave Ibrox was even picked up by Heart & Hand, who claimed that out of all of Rangers’ out of contract stars, Lovelace is the only one they’d keep.

But any conjecture about the contract situation of Zak Lovelace, which appears to have stemmed from Sky Sports, has just been cleared up by another fan media outlet.

Four Lads Had a Dream have confirmed that Lovelace has another year to run on his contract and, for all intents and purposes, the 18-year-old forward is going nowhere.

Speaking directly to the forward, Four Lads Had a Dream have claimed Lovelace has ‘no intention’ of leaving Ibrox.

Young Rangers talent ‘no intention’ of exit

Regarded as one of the brightest talents at Rangers, fans will be glad to hear that Zak Lovelace is committed to the club.

Having come into the team against St Mirren under Davo last October, the striker won Rangers a first-half penalty before being stretchered off in pretty devastating scenes.

Despite beginning to work his way back to fitness with the Rangers B team, injury struck again in March and it’s pretty much kept the kid out for the season.

On the precipice of a proper breakthrough at Rangers, Zak Lovelace will hope to grab his chance next campaign but for the time being it’s about getting back to fitness and proving himself to Philippe Clement.

Given the clear talent of the ex-Millwall forward, Rangers might also do well to tie him down on a new contract given the Rangers manager’s recent comments about letting deals tick down!
