Adam Idah makes it clear how feels about his Celtic loan move ahead of summer decision

Celtic striker Adam Idah shed some light on his relationship with Brendan Rodgers after helping his side clinch the Scottish Premiership title against Kilmarnock.

The Republic of Ireland international opened the scoring on a day of title-winning scenes at Rugby Park, taking his tally to eight goals and two assists across 17 appearances for the club [Transfermarkt].

As we told you earlier today, his overall performance in Ayrshire was exemplary, as he had five shots on goal, created one chance, completed 17 out of his 20 attempted passes and mucked in tracking back, carrying out three defensive actions.

With celebrations in full swing after Celtic finalised three in a row, it is important to remember that this success may not have been possible without Idah’s contribution and Rodgers’ faith in his countryman.

His late exploits at Hibernian, Motherwell and a goal off the bench at Ibrox have been critical in the context of the season, as he has thrived under the pressure of the title race.

Speaking after the match, Idah gave some brilliant observations about his time at Celtic and how Rodgers has been a positive influence for his career.

Adam Idah on life at Celtic and Brendan Rodgers relationship

He said on his time at Celtic [Celtic TV]: “Unbelievable. I had a tough start to the season; my confidence was low, and ever since I arrived, I’ve been so welcomed in. I hope I repaid that to the fans and to the players. Look, I’m over the moon to be here.

“The crowd are unbelievable. What the boys have done tonight has been amazing. Not just tonight but the whole season. There’s been so many ups and downs, so it’s fantastic to enjoy it with everyone.”

Idah later added on Rodgers: “He’s been unbelievable. He’s been in these situations so many times. Like we said before, we enjoy the pressure and when the times get tough we’re the ones who get going.”

You get the impression the Cork-born forward is loving life at Parkhead, a place where he has emerged from the shadows to become a pivotal player whom supporters adore.

Despite signing on loan from Norwich City to little hype, the 23-year-old has arguably been Celtic’s most important signing this season, and public opinion regarding his chances of a permanent deal at the club is swiftly growing.

The Canaries are reportedly demanding £5 million for Idah’s services. Should that be the case, Rodgers and company shouldn’t hesitate to get the chequebook out for a now-proven marksman.
