'Magician': Matheus Nunes blown away by how good £300k-a-week Manchester City teammate is

Matheus Nunes has labelled one of his Manchester City teammates ‘a magician’, as he selected a Premier League ultimate XI of players from Portugal and Brazil.

Nunes is a Portugal international, and spent years growing up there, but he was actually born in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He moved to Ericeira at the age of 12 with his mother and English stepfather.

He then started playing football for a sixth-division side, while working at his godfather’s bakery part-time.

Nunes has always followed the Premier League, and given his background, he is therefore pretty well placed to be choosing an ultimate team of players from Portugal and Brazil.

Nunes selected a few City stars in his XI, and dropped a particularly kind verdict on one player…

Portugal and Brazil have produced some incredible players over the years, and English football fans have been lucky to see quite a few ply their trade in the Premier League.

Manchester City fans have seen a fair few on show at the Etihad over the years.

At the moment, City have Nunes, Ruben Dias and Ederson in the squad, with Joao Cancelo out on loan.

City also have Bernardo Silva, who is a player Nunes seriously rates.

Nunes chose all of the aforementioned players to be in his team, and when he was speaking about Bernardo, he said (via Man City official YouTube: “Ber-nar-doooo, Silva! What a player. Magician.”

Nunes also chose City legend Fernandinho to be in his team, admitting he wished he could have played with the former Etihad midfield general.

What a player indeed

Bernardo Silva is hands down one of the best players Manchester City have ever had, and it’s nice to see Nunes putting him in his ultimate Portugal and Brazil Premier League team.

The likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden are the regular headline-makers at the Etihad Stadium, but Bernardo is a player who constantly shines.

He never really gets the same level of credit as other players, but he is just a sensational footballer. Not only is he a technical genius and someone who can score goals and create assists, but he always works his socks off for the team every single game.

His defensive and tactical discipline are incredible, and he must be an absolute joy to share the field with, as well as be a manager’s dream.

Some City fans are worried we could be seeing Bernardo turning out for City for his final couple of games now. He has again been linked with an exit from the club and is said to want a resolution by the end of Euro 2024, and it would be devastating if he departed.
