Series of explosions occur near Kharkiv: Air defense eliminates Shakhed drones

A series of explosions occurred in Kharkiv. Russian forces are attacking the city with Shaheds, according to Suspilne, Telegram channels of the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"A series of explosions was heard in Kharkiv, presumably outside the city," the message says.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Kharkiv is being attacked by Shahed-type combat drones.

At 11:28 p.m., he reported another explosion in the city.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, advises residents to take cover.

"Air defense systems are operational, do not leave shelters and be cautious!" he said.

Russian advance in Kharkiv region

Last week, Russian troops commenced a large-scale advance in the Kharkiv region across the state border from the territory of the Belgorod region.

Within a few days, Russia occupied a series of border villages and the northern outskirts of the town of Vovchansk. Simultaneously, Russian forces continued to shell Kharkiv.

Within several days, the Armed Forces launched a counterattack against the enemy near Vovchansk.

Defense forces have already halted the Russian advance in the region.
