Arsenal star wanted in Saudi transfer as Adidas leaves Gunners fans frustrated

A round-up of the latest Arsenal news as Adidas frustrates lots of Gunners fans with their 2024/25 home kit and Saudi Arabian teams now target a summer transfer raid.

Jens Lehmann thinks Arsenal could repeat the Invincibles

Invincibles legend Jens Lehmann thinks Arsenal could repeat Arsene Wenger’s 2003/04 side in ‘the next few years’ under Mikel Arteta. But the German doubts Liverpool or Manchester City will go a full Premier League term unbeaten any time soon as issues are on the horizon.

Lehmann was Wenger’s No1 goalkeeper for most of the 03/04 season as Arsenal went a full season unbeaten to win their third Premier League title. He can now see solid foundations in the side Arteta is building in north London to possibly repeat the feat in the coming years.

Arsenal have not won the top-flight title since they became only the second English team to ever go an entire league season unbeaten. The Gunners are also the only team to ever do it in the Premier League. But Lehmann refuses to rule out a squad replicating Arsenal one day.

“There are good teams, so why can’t [there be another Invincibles]?” Lehmann explained to the Daily Mail. “Over recent seasons, Man City and Liverpool came close. Arsenal, I think in the next few years, we’ll come close again.

“Because if you consider the situation of Liverpool and at Man City, I think they will face some difficulties and the set-up at Arsenal is good. So, you never know. They can achieve it again. Well, they can stay unbeaten – if they win something, that’s a different subject.”

Fans fume as Arsenal launch their new 24/25 Adidas home kit

Arsenal and Adidas have frustrated lots of Gunners supporters after unveiling the club’s new 2024/25 home kit. Fans have been quick to share their frustrations on social media over the north London giant’s new shirt featuring lots of white and blue segments around a red body.

The shirt is the first Arsenal home kit to boast a cannon crest since the 1989/90 season. Yet some fans were more focused on Adidas deciding to use white sides, shoulders and sleeves with blue trimming. The white sides even join together at the base of the mostly-red back.

It is not the first time that Adidas has made a similar shirt for Arsenal since replacing Puma in 2019, either. Adidas also gifted Arsenal a red-bodied home shirt with white sides for the 2021/22 season. But the Gunners’ new strip also features white shoulders, rather than red.

Sides in Saudi Arabia are now starting to target Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus for the summer transfer window. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that interest is starting to emerge in the Pro League. But, as of yet, no team has approached Arsenal to open talks.

Saudi sides are only beginning to identify their final targets and are not yet actively pursuing a deal. But Jesus has emerged as a prominent name for Pro League teams after falling out of favour at Arsenal. The 27-year-old has started in four of his last nine Premier League games.

Jesus has even only started in 17 of his 26 top-flight appearances from a potential 29 games all season. Mikel Arteta has been without the Brazilian three times due to injury. Jesus even only has four goals and five assists across 1,470 minutes of Premier League action this term.
