Luke Parsons hopes a few summertime tweaks can help build a Newark Town squad ready to make it third time lucky.
However, the Blues boss accepts there may be some exits from the Sports Village during the closed season.
Now the dust has settled on the United Counties League Division One campaign, attention will turn to a summer rebuild.
And while Parsons hopes there won’t be too many ins and outs at the club, he accepts there will be changes following the club’s 2-1 play-off final defeat to Harrowby United.
“Certainly we’ll take a week or so to get over it, but certain players might want to step up a level because they’re good enough to,” he said.
“Some players are probably looking like packing in because of their age and they family commitments.
“As with any team, no team ever comes back next season with the same squad.
“We were quite blessed last season as we only really lost two or three that we wanted to stay, but we managed to bring in five or six, so this season it’ll probably be the same.”
Last weekend’s promotion final defeat - the second time the club has missed out in the play-offs in their two years at step six - was a tough one to take for the Blues.
However, a fantastic crowd of more than 980 turned out to watch the contest.
Now Parsons hopes many of those local supporters have a taste of the good things planned at the club, and will be back next season - hopefully to witness some success.
“There’s too much talent in this squad for it not to happen in the end,” Parsons added.
“We need to recharge the batteries to go again.
“But the fans have been superb all season and the lads love playing for them, and the fans like being there for the lads.
“Even if it was your first time there for a while (at the play-off final), for me I’d say, enjoy it, come back, create the feeling at the club.
“The fans always back us, they’ll get behind us and we’ll go again.”
