'He's wrong': Chris Sutton has just predicted the result of Man City vs West Ham on final day

Arsenal fans are hoping for a miracle when Manchester City take on West Ham United on the final day of the season.

The Premier League title race is set to go down to the wire as Arsenal still have a small chance of pipping Manchester City to the top spot.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men are still the favourites to win the title – all they need to do is win their game against West Ham United.

Chris Sutton predicts the result of Manchester City vs West Ham United

Manchester City are arguably the best team in the world.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already won three Premier League titles in a row, and it is looking very likely that they will make it four on Sunday.

The defending champions have picked up 88 points after 37 games in the Premier League. Arsenal, on the other hand, have 86 points despite winning the same number of games as their title rivals.

It’s a simple scenario for Manchester City – win their game against West Ham United and they will become the champions again. If they drop points and Arsenal beat Everton, the title will go to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal fans are hoping for the latter, and Chris Sutton’s son believes West Ham will cause an upset at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

However, the pundit has made a completely different prediction, one that Arsenal fans will not like.

He wrote on BBC Sport: “My son James thinks West Ham are going to win at Etihad Stadium but he’s wrong. The same goes for Legend’s prediction, and I can see why he doesn’t win many on Gladiators.

“Four of City’s seven Premier League triumphs have gone down to the final day, and they went at least one goal down in three of them.

“This one will be different, because I don’t just think City will win, I am expecting them to wrap it up early and seal a record fourth Premier League title in a row without any last-day drama.”

After further raving about Manchester City, Sutton added: “I just feel a bit sorry for West Ham boss David Moyes because this is his final game in charge and it could not be any more difficult.”

Sutton then boldly predicted a 5-0 win for Manchester City.

What Ham already know what to do to get a result

West Ham United have a terrible recent record against Manchester City in the Premier League.

In the last five meetings between the two sides, Pep Guardiola’s men have won four games and suffered zero losses.

The one time City dropped points against the Irons was back in May 2022, when David Moyes’ side held them to a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.

Manchester City, as you would expect, absolutely dominated the ball and had 31 shots at goal. They did everything they possibly could to win, but Jarrod Bowen’s brace secured an unlikely point for the Hammers that day.

West Ham need to do the same at the Etihad to have any chance of getting a result. They must defend deep, stay organised and take their chances when they get them.

If they do that, they will be doing Arsenal a massive favour, but we must say that it is extremely unlikely considering that Manchester City are on a roll, having won seven games in a row in the Premier League.

In the same period, West Ham have won just two games – against relegated Luton Town and struggling Wolves.
