‘They’re not happy’: Sky journalist shares what he’s now hearing from people within Tottenham

To say it’s been a strange week at Tottenham would be an understatement.

Spurs lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday, but, weirdly, many Tottenham fans were quite happy with that result.

Indeed, Tottenham’s defeat meant that Arsenal are now rank outsiders to win the Premier League title, and there was a strange atmosphere around the stadium due to these implications.

Ange Postecoglou, clearly, wasn’t happy with this mentality after the game, and according to James Green, others within Spurs aren’t happy either.

Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Green stated that people he’s spoken to within Tottenham aren’t happy with how things have happened behind the scenes, claiming that some staff members were even talking about how they wanted to lose on Tuesday.

People within Tottenham aren’t happy

Green shared what he’s heard from people within Tottenham.

“I was talking to someone within Tottenham last night and they’re not happy. They’re not happy with how everything has happened behind the scenes at Tottenham,” Green said.

“Behind the scenes at Tottenham staff members at the club were talking about how they don’t want Tottenham to win, staff members who work for the club were talking about how they want Tottenham to lose.”

Tottenham mentalities need to change

Some within Spurs aren’t happy, and it’s not hard to understand why.

Going into work at a football club and hoping that your team loses a game is just such a weak mentality, especially when Champions League football is still on the cards.

It’s as cliché as it comes, but mentality is what makes a champion moreso than talent, and if Spurs staff are speaking in this sort of way behind the scenes, that attitude will permeate throughout the club.

Something has to change at Tottenham, and those who are unhappy with the attitudes at the club need to be the ones to enact the changes.
