Arsenal injury latest and return dates with 2 Everton doubts amid Saka update

The latest Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of facing Everton on the last day of the Premier League season with boss Mikel Arteta potentially without Bukayo Saka.

Sean Dyche brings his Toffees team to north London on Sunday to face a Gunners side vying for the title. Arsenal must beat Everton on Sunday and hope West Ham United also do them a favour at Manchester City. A win alone will not be enough for Arteta to oversee a title win.

Arsenal go into the final day of the season second in the Premier League table facing a two-point deficit to Manchester City. So, the Emirates Stadium team only need West Ham to take a draw at Etihad Stadium. Arsenal would win the title on goal difference if level on 89 points.

Arsenal injury list ahead of hosting Everton

Arteta will welcome Everton to Emirates Stadium with an almost fully-fit Arsenal team at his disposal. The Toffees have also struggled on their recent visits to north London. Everton lost their last two trips to Arsenal in the Premier League 5-1, which was on the last day, and 4-0.

A sole goal by substitute Leandro Trossard in the 69th minute also saw the Gunners win 1-0 at Goodison Park in September. He replaced Gabriel Martinelli after the Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury. So, with that in mind, here is the latest injury situation Arsenal are facing.

Bukayo Saka injury latest

Fears rose yet again that Saka may have suffered an injury as Arsenal won 1-0 at Manchester United last Sunday. Arteta felt obliged to substitute the 22-year-old in the 82nd minute after Sofyan Amrabat’s robust challenge left Saka to tumble into the pitchside advertising boards.

Saka has received a number of robust challenges in recent weeks that have left Arsenal with concerns. The forward was even a doubt to head to Old Trafford last week after he required treatment against AFC Bournemouth. Ryan Christie’s questionable tackle cut Saka’s left shin.

Arteta was confident after beating Manchester United that Saka ‘should be fine’ to feature when Arsenal host Everton, though. He has been an essential part of the Gunners’ quest to win their first top-flight title in 20 years with 16 goals and nine assists over 35 appearances.

Expected return: Everton (May 19)

Arteta has continued to opt against including Jurrien Timber in his matchday sides since the Arsenal defender returned to training following an ACL injury. The 22-year-old sustained his knee injury on the opening day of the Premier League term in August and required surgery.

Timber went to the ground unchallenged after 50 minutes against Nottingham Forest on his Premier League debut. He did, however, enjoy two outings for Arsenal’s academy in the PL2 in April. The PL2 fixtures took the centre-back to 241 minutes of competitive action all term.

Expected return: Everton (May 19)
