Anthony Martial pictured in first team training in Man Utd triple boost, returning loanee also spotted

Ahead of the final Premier League game of the season, four players have been spotted back in Manchester United training.

This weekend, the Premier League wraps up but for Manchester United, all eyes will already be locked on next Saturday’s FA Cup final.

The chances of United securing anything higher than seventh look slim at best, with the appalling goal difference coming into effect.

But the good news for Erik ten Hag is that his squad finally seems to be returning from injury and this trend continues on Friday with three players spotted training who haven’t played recently.

Along with these three, there was a youngster who had just returned from an unsuccessful loan move.

Four players stand out in Manchester United training

Ten Hag has been handed a triple boost as three first-team players have now returned to training, as spotted in training on Friday.

Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof were all spotted at Carrington after being out for a sustained period each.

This is a huge boost for Ten Hag given the lack of options both in defence and upfront over the past few months and could be a real bonus heading toward the cup final.

The fourth player noticed in training is 19-year-old Dan Gore who has returned from his loan at Port Vale and stepped immediately back into training in a bid to impress Ten Hag.

Pictures of Martial and Varane are shared on Instagram embeds above, while Lindelof and Gore were also seen on a four-minute training video released by Manchester United.

Gore would be ineligible for Sunday’s game due to his loan but will be keen to remind the manager who he is in the hopes of getting preseason to feature and force himself into the plans.

When did each player last appear for United?

The three returning first-team players have been sorely missed, for different reasons and have been out for different lengths of time.

Last appearance for the four returning players

Martial’s return is coming far too late, as United needed his striking talents desperately at times this year with Rasmus Hojlund struggling to do it all on his own.

The returning defensive pair have also been sorely missed with Casemiro having the fill-in over the past few weeks due to injury.

All three will be strong options to have in the squad this weekend and next. These two games are the final two for both Varane and Martial with Lindelof’s future also in the air.
