Norwood Park Golf Club captains raise £28,000, with donations to Beaumond House Hospice Care and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance

Two golf club captains have raised a massive £28,000 during their reign.

Norwood Park Golf Club’s Jane Parks and Paddy Whur have now presented the cheques to their chosen charities.

A total of £17,000 was raised for Beaumond House Hospice Care and £10,000 for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance — with a stellar fundraising effort made by Paddy and his wife, vice captain Jacquie Whur.

The pair took on three charity treks over seven peaks in their bid to raise money for the good causes.

Their final climb, in January, was Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.

They had previously summited Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike as part of the national three peaks challenge, and also completed the Yorkshire three peaks challenge.

Jane and Paddy also donated to Norwood Junior Development Fund and TOFS, a charity close to the club’s hearts.

The club offered thanks to its “wonderful members and visitors” who supported the fundraising events.
