'Super busy': Fabrizio Romano says seven players could all leave Tottenham in big clear out

Things need to change at Tottenham,

Spurs have shown over the past few weeks that they’re miles away from challenging at the top end of the Premier League, and a serious squad refresh is needed.

Speaking on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Spurs’ summer transfer plans, and he’s made an interesting claim about departures this summer.

Tottenham could sell seven players this summer

Romano spoke about how many players could leave Spurs, and he’s claimed that seven players could leave in the summer window.

“I think Tottenham could sell and offload a lot of players, I think it could be up to six or seven players leaving in the summer transfer window. It will be super busy for Tottenham,” Romano said.

Tottenham need to change

Spurs need to go into next season as an entirely different team, and selling a number of players is necessary.

Some of these decisions will have to be ruthless, but when you fail year after year, you don’t deserve to be at a club like Tottenham.

Sadly, many of these players have now struggled under four separate managers, and Ange Postecoglou surely won’t want to suffer the same fate as Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte before him.

Who leaves Spurs remains to be seen, but by the sounds of it, there could be some bombshell departures at Tottenham.

Of course, if these players leave, they will need to be replaced, and that makes for a potentially very exciting summer transfer window at Tottenham in terms of incomings as well.

Say what you will about Spurs’ performances on the pitch this season, but many of their signings this term have been on the money, and if they can emulate that success again this summer, they will be moving in the right direction before too long.
