Hayate Nakagawa threw six innings of two-run ball and helped his own cause with a two-run homer, leading the DeNA BayStars to a 3-2 win over the Chunichi Dragons on Saturday.
The 25-year-old submarine right-hander, who joined the BayStars in the offseason after being released by the Pacific League's Orix Buffaloes, homered to cap a three-run second inning at Yokohama Stadium.
Nakagawa (2-0) beat Chunichi for the second time, following his first career win on April 30 against the Dragons.
Takahiro Matsuba (2-3) took the loss, while DeNA's Kohei Morihara picked up his 10th save.
In other action, the Central League-leading Hanshin Tigers blanked the Yakult Swallows 1-0, while the PL-leading SoftBank Hawks rallied to beat the Seibu Lions 3-2.
