Simon Jordan says something he’s seen at Tottenham would really disappoint him if he was owner

TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has admitted something at Tottenham Hotspur would have really disappointed him this week if he was the owner.

An end to what has been a strange final week of the 2023/24 campaign is now just hours away with a trip to Sheffield United coming up on Sunday.

Tottenham‘s win over Burnley last weekend saw their four-game losing streak brought to an end. However, defeat to Manchester City quickly followed on Tuesday night.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side produced a good account of themselves against the champions-elect, but the Australian was left furious on the night.

The Spurs manager’s fury has since been squashed during his press conference from Hotspur Way on Friday.

However, Jordan has now insisted he found something really disappointing during the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday.

What Simon Jordan was left stunned by at Tottenham this week

It has been a week which Postecoglou will be looking forward to putting behind him with so much emotion surrounding the game earlier in the week.

The Australian has admitted he just wants to see his side win football games and the loss on Tuesday brought an end to their faint hopes of Champions League qualification.

And that could be seen on Tuesday night with Spurs providing City with a stern test on the night and only seeing two mistakes capitalised on.

However, there were visibly mixed emotions in the stands with some Spurs fans celebrating when Erling Haaland netted his first goal.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, the former Crystal Palace owner has insisted he was shocked by seeing some Spurs fans do the Poznan after City had scored.

“I have friends that went to that game and the atmosphere was strange. And he [Postecoglou] understands the fact that Arsenal will get the benefit of an outcome that perhaps Spurs facilitate for them. But he wants to change the culture of his club,” Jordan said.

“And part of it is you can’t have fans doing the Poznan! There were Spurs fans doing the Poznan! You can’t have it. If I was the owner of Tottenham Hotspur, I would have been disappointed with that.”

Ange Postecoglou was both right and wrong on Tuesday night

The 58-year-old did not hold back on Tuesday night as he admitted he was quite disappointed by the atmosphere created.

He was even seen letting rip on a Tottenham fan who was sat directly behind him in the dugout on the night.

And when you see some Spurs fans celebrating conceding a goal then it is totally understandable why Postecoglou was so furious.

However, he should have went into the game with a more realistic expectation of the mood which was awaiting for him inside the stadium ahead of the game.

A lot of Spurs fans were always going to want to see Arsenal disadvantaged in the title race, but clearly, there was a way of going about it and some fans overstepped the mark.
