The country's Minister of Health, Zuzana Dolinková, said that the operation on May 17, which lasted two hours, "contributed to a positive prognosis for the development of the prime minister's health condition." The morning consultation assessed the premier's health as stable, but still serious.

Fico's transfer to Bratislava or abroad will not be possible in the coming days, according to the country's Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák.

"I cannot find words of gratitude for the fact that we are approaching a positive prognosis," he said.

“His condition allows him to recover, the prime minister is conscious, of course, with all the restrictions that such a serious injury imposes.”

Kaliňák also explained how the governance of the state would look like during Fico's hospitalization.

The government will continue to work according to the program. Next week, there will be at least two Cabinet meetings, one standard and one special, on negotiations on the Euro funds. He emphasized that the deadline for submitting laws to parliament is approaching, and the state must continue to function.
