Report: One club is no longer interested in 'frightening' Newcastle star, especially considering his price tag

No matter what happens to Newcastle United on the final day of the season, it could be a huge summer for the club.

While it remains to be seen whether or not FFP limitations allow for the kind of big rebuild that has been talked about, it seems Newcastle will be making changes to their squad.

Indeed, the club are reportedly looking to raise money through player sales in an effort to raise money to fund incomings of their own.

The likes of Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier are said to be just some of the big names who could leave.

The battle, however, comes in trying to keep the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak.

They have both been linked with moves away in recent months, though manager Eddie Howe has warned the club against allowing either to go.

There has recently been talk of Guimaraes staying at St James’ Park next season amid suggestions Paris Saint-Germain are actually surprised about the extent to which they’ve been linked with him.

Now, Newcastle may be handed a boost when it comes to Isak, too.

However, the Daily Mirror now provide some more insight.

They claim the Gunners have tracked Isak in the past but are no longer interested in a move, especially at the “mooted” price of a stunning £120m.

Arsenal have just handed Eddie Howe a massive transfer boost at Newcastle

This will no doubt be welcome news for Howe.

Isak, who has been described as “frightening” by teammate Trippier, is reportedly the player the Newcastle manager wants to build around for many years to come.

With Guimaraes potentially staying next season too, things are starting to look very promising indeed.
